Male friendships

So today I was at work. If you're wondering where, I am working as a seasonal photographer for a school portraits studio. Anyways. . . today at work I had an interesting convo about male-female relationships with 2 of my male coworkers and one of them brought up the theory, he thinks is true, that most men have at one time or another been attracted/ been interested in their female friends. Maybe they aren't anymore but at one time they were interested in dating their friends who are girls.

I am wondering. . . is this true? What do you guys and girls think?

The Stenger Family

Today I got the pleasure of photographing the Stenger family. I haven't had this much fun in a long time. I love photographing people who are creative and up for a few different ideas. The Stengers are just these type of people. Here are some pics from that shoot.

Insomnia

It is currently 4:09 am and I am listening to Imogen Heap on Pandora, whishing I was a sleep. Sigh. . .and this is why you shouldn't work out at night because it causes you to not fall asleep. Ofcourse it could have to do with the 16 hours of sleep I got on the way back from CA to OR the other day.

Aveda Salon Institute

So. . . this may come as a huge suprise but I'm praying about going back to school to become a hair stylist. In Portland there is a good Aveda Institute. It is 14-16 months and I'm really considering it. I feel that it is something I can do with photography and will bring in more of a steady income. I know it is something I should have done before photography school but hell. . . hindsight is 20/20 and I've never had good vision anyways.

If you could pleas keep me in your prayers. It does mean more loans and that's scary but it is something that would help with a more steady income while starting photography. I could also do photography while at school. I'll meet with a counselor from the school in a week and ask her all those important questions. If I did I would start September 8th so that is pretty soon.

Thanks for all your prayers.

"Time Traveler's Wife"

Photobucket

I just finished this book and would recommend it. I really enjoyed the writing style and the storyline. The characters were indepth, easy to care for, and they kept your interest easily.

The story is written through the views of the two main characters; Henry and Claire. It also jumps from pasts to presents to futures. I like the jumping around of time in the story.

I won't say anything more but I'd recommend reading this before the movie comes out because I'm sure it isn't nearly as good as the book. It NEVER is.

Grandpa

Last week my father's father past away. He lived a long life and at the end it was his time. On a VERY happy note he and my grandma received Jesus into their hearts!!!! Hallelujah!!!! All my life my grandpa and grandma have lived without any need or desire to know Jesus as their Savior. The week before my grandpa passed away was very hard. He was put on life support because he wasn't able to breath on his own. He was also sedated because he was in so much pain. A few days before passing away the doctors removed a large quantity of liquid that was in his lungs. After that he was able to be taken off LS and taken off of sedation. When my grandpa came to and had his breathing tube removed he was obviously upset and trying to tell everyone in the room something. Since he had just had the breathing tube removed his throat was swollen and raw and it was hard to understand him. Finally, he was yelling and he said, "I went to hell and back and when I came back you, you and you were not here! You need to go to church and you need Jesus!" After that my grandpa and grandma received Jesus into their hearts.

Apparently my grandpa's experience to hell was so traumatic that he couldn't speak on it. He also had to have the clip that monitors your heart rate, usually it's on your finger, moved because the little red light reminded him of the light he followed to hell.

I am sad that I wasn't able to see my grandpa once more before he went to heaven but I am glad to know I will see him again someday. One of the biggest things that weighed on my heart was that he wasn't a Christian. Thank the Lord that He accepts anyone who seeks for Him no matter when. Thank the Lord He is gracious and merciful and even though my grandpa came to Him at the end of his life the Lord still accepted him. I think of the parable where a farmer hired some men to work in his fields in the morning for a certain price and then in the afternoon he hired more men and then with again with just an hour left. At the end of the day all of them were paid the same price as the workers who started in the morning. The men in who worked longer grumbled about how unfair that was but the farmer said that it was his choice to pay them each what he felt like paying and that he paid them what he promised.

Love you Grandpa Lewis and I will see you soon. Say "hi" to Grandpa Seese.
