Sushi and Prawns

Yesterday I went out to eat with some past students of mine. We went out for sushi (I didn't have to pay!). Pretty nice sushi I think too. . .I'm use to the kaiten sushi (the ones on the belts that go around in circle and each plate is a different price depending on the color). But this was really beautifully prepared and served. The sushi chef and his wife ran the restaurant. very cute. Here are some pictures

We started out with these Prawns that they call amaiebi (amai is sweet and ebi is shrimp). Can you believe they eat the WHOLE thing. . head and all. . . Keiko ate the tail tooo!!!

And there goes the head. since living here I've come to like some cooked fish. . .most sushi. . .am starting to like nori aka. seaweed. I still don't like shrimp so much but I still ate this to be polite.

The sushi was GREAT!! To be honest I can't tell the difference . .. but the scallops were really soft and tender. The Hamachi (Yellow tail) was GREAT too.

BBQ in Odaiba

On Monday my church had a BBQ in Odaiba which is near the ocean. There were suppose to be around 80 people but only about 40 or so came but it was a still a lot of fun. REALLY hot and humid but fun. I haven't edited through all my pictures from that day but here are some of them. I'll post more later. . .

I am coming home in 2weeks!!!! In 2 weeks I'll be in Oregon!!!! And so will the Texas folks!!! Yayayayyayayayay!!!! I can't wait!!! I miss you all!!!

Accidents

I don't know what's up but recently I've been getting into a lot of little accidents but this time it was a little bigger. . .I was biking to the gym when I tried to go from the road to the sidewalk and my bike's tire got caught on the curb and before I knew it I was sideways skidding across the sidewalk. I had no idea that would happen and I was really surprised. Luckily I was close to the gym. . .unluckily no one even stopped to help me or ask how I was but just kept walking by. . . mmmm. . I hope I'm never in REAL need here. The cut was shallow but the burn really hurt and I got two pretty big lumps . . . one on my knee and one on my ankle.

Another sad bit is that the day before I tripped up the escalators (not my fault. . .my friend forced me to run for a train and I didn't want to but we did anyways and I fell) and cut open the bottom of my big toe. So that really hurts and now my right leg is all banged up. . .mmmm. . . .about 2 weeks ago I got into a little scrap on my bike when I took a corner too sharp and grated my right hand across a wall. . .again luckily I was near the gym and they were able to give me bandaids. . actually those cuts were deeper then my accident today. weird huh?

Saturday Night in Minami Urawa

Last Saturday we had dinner at my place and I made Thai Green Curry which everyone seemed to enjoy. I've come to realize I LOVE hostessing. I really do. I bought a watermelon and peaches too. My friend, Tess, and her boyfriend, Noel brought over icecream and drinks and some melon too. Here are the pics from it. Hope you enjoy. I had a great time.
